Would You Ever….

…buy shoes designed by Kanye West?

He raps, he manages record labels, he steals the spotlight from sweet country bumpkins giving awards speeches, and he…designs shoes?

That’s right, folks. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better. Kanye West teamed up with shoemaker Giuseppe Zanotti to create two pairs of women’s shoes that most of us would have to take out a loan to own.

These stiletto sandals, crafted from calf leather (calling all PETA members!), are embroidered with enough pearls to make an oyster cry. Price tag: $4,968.07 (plus shipping + handling from Paris, of course).

The more affordable (ha!) option are these strappy stiletto sandals in black. Also made from calf leather, but sans the ocean accoutrements, you can add these kicks to your collection for a mere $792.

So, let’s say you were just handed a check for $5,000. Which pair would you spring for?

Post a pic of your shoe splurge and it could end up on our Pinterest page!

Weird Shoe Wednesdays: Stiletto Heel Table

Who loves stiletto heels? Who wants more of their furniture to resemble those dangerously high, dangerously spiky heels? Now you can have all your dreams fulfilled.

This is a limited edition desk (only eight made) actually named Stiletto. The stiletto-shaped leg is sculpted from stacked walnut. The table’s underbelly features polished red acrylic for a chic touch. Hidden grooves allow you access to red leather-lined drawers. The tabletop is French Burr Walnut veneer with or without inlaid leather. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this in “Lifestyle of the Rich And Famous” or some less outdated version of that show.

Weird Shoe Wednesdays: Teva Stilettos … for hiking?

I try to be careful not to just find the ugliest shoes in the world and post them. But these Teva stiletto heels … there’s just so much wrong, it’s hard to know where to start.

These Teva high heel sandals are a collaboration between Teva and New York fashion designer Grey Ant, known for “subverting trends with a measure of the ironic,” according to New High (M)art. This design basically sticks a high heel onto one of Teva’s classic sport sandals.

Let’s ignore for a moment the shoe’s questionable aesthetic appeal. Let’s focus instead on the promo pics below:

Really? Women are not only expected to trim weeds in these stilettos (and apparently without pants), but they can go mountain climbing in them as well. And in fuzzy socks, no less! This is just too much.
