Don’t hold back – fall in love this Fall! I know you’ll probably still be hung up on Spring and Summer, but I’ll keep you one step ahead of the trends so you can start fresh with Fall long before it’s here. Spring and Summer might be a little jealous, but it’ll totally be worth it.
Rachel Roy, a Pantone designer, says this Fall’s color palette is inspired by Nature’s landscape. “The color palette contrasts between dark tones of Granite, Slate and Soil with pops of Bright Pinks and Purples; prominent colors of warm and cool shades of Green and Berry with brushed Coppers are combined in beautiful silhouettes.”

Following the lead of the famous TOMS shoes, Skechers has released their charity line of shoes called BOBS. And we just received them in our warehouse. The BOBS collection by Skechers are flat espadrille shoes inspired by the South American alpargata shoe. They are really comfy and relaxed. The bigger picture is that for every pair of BOBS that you buy, Skechers will donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. Check them out below.

They’ll be available at www.shoemetro.com soon enough. Until then, don’t bother Jenny–she’s on a very important phone call, as you can see.

Coming soon to a Shoe Metro near you, we have the Aubrey wedges from Caterpillar. Yes, those are fashionable women’s shoes from Caterpillar, the world-famous work boot giant. Caterpillar has been experimenting with shoes outside of the realm of work footwear. This is the first time we’ve had them and we like them. The upper is leather with suede trim. There’s this fun, kinda exotic floral print inside the lining. You can see the outsole still retains this lugged look to remind you of its rugged Caterpillar roots. And it’s comfortable with the cork wedge heel. These are very casual shoes so they work best with jeans (which Jessica clearly wasn’t ready for below, hah).

They’ll be available soon enough at our store. We’ll keep you posted when you can purchase them.
Be on the lookout for our new Donald J. Pliner sandals, which just came into our offices yesterday. Included in our assortment are two styles of sandals featuring peace symbols on the bottom of the outsole. When you see these peace symbols on any Donald J. Pliner shoes or accessories, that means that your purchase will donate $2.50 towards the Peace for the Children Foundation.
The Peace for the Children Foundation, headed by Donald and Lisa Pliner, focuses on creating and maintaining parks and playgrounds in urban areas to promote physical and mental health of children. Our head buyer, Danielle, is holding the Donald J. Pliner Ciss sandals above but the Donald J. Pliner Gustaf sandals also feature a peace symbol outsole design. We’ll let you know when they’re available at our store!
Our Buying Department has been really kicking butt lately. In an effort to let them get a little braggy with the great shoes they’ve been buying–and also to give customers a sneak peek into what we have in store just around the corner–we’ve started our new Coming Soon feature.
To kick things off, we just got our first batch of Irregular Choice shoes in this week. As you can guess from the name, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill everyday shoes. These pumps pop with Alice In Wonderland-esque personality and pizzazz. While they may be a little overwhelming for everyday use, our Assistant Buyer Jessica believes these will be perfect for graduation day. Since everyone is forced to wear the same cap and gown outfit, the only way to stand out from the crowd is with your shoes. And you’ll definitely be able to turn some heads with these wild shoes.
Be on the lookout for Irregular Choice shoes at our store in the near future.
