10% Off Boots + 15% Off Allen Edmonds + 15% Off Select Skate Styles

Hey I just wanted to recap the promotions going on right now. There’s a lot and it can be hard to keep track of so this should make it easier to do so.
Save On All Boots

  1. For starters, you can take 10% OFF all boots, women’s and men’s. It’s officially Fall and we know you all want to stock up on boots for the season. For the 10% Off boots, enter this code at checkout: BOOTSALE. Ends on 10/4/2011.
  2. Allen Edmonds is running its annual “Rediscover America” campaign. It’s the only time each year that they discount their shoes at all so you should take advantage. Allen Edmonds prides itself on hand-crafting fine men’s dress shoes and producing them in the USA. All Allen Edmonds dress shoes are on sale right now for 15% Off. Use this code at checkout: 15ALLEN. This ends 10/6/2011.
  3. We’re currently offering Free Ground Shipping site-wide to our US customers. No code needed. We’re just really great like that. This ends 10/6/2011.

Finally, we’re having a sale on 15 different skate shoes, for men and women. It’s 15% Off these skate shoes with this code: SK8SALE. Here’s a rundown of everything we’re offering and how much they’ll be after the discount. This promo ends 10/3/2011:

Happy weekend and happy shopping!

Weird Shoe Wednesdays: Diego Dolcini Fanned Zip-Back Sandals

I don’t know about these shoes. These are sandals from Diego Dolcini, hand-made in Italy, with a zip-back, a 4-inch stiletto heel, Swarovski crystals, and this huge pleated fan across the front. I can’t tell if they remind me of an oyster hiding pearls, a peacock flaunting its feathers …… or a race-track patron wearing a hat that imitates a peacock flaunting its feathers. It’s a little too much I think.

If you were interested, you can sacrifice next month’s rent at Neiman Marcus (of course, it would be available at Neiman Marcus) for $2,445. What do you think of these sandals?

What We’re Wearing: Mia Ximena Boots

With the Fall season fast approaching, it looks like it’s time to get into every fashionista’s favorite type of shoes: boots. Lead Buyer, Danielle, recently purchased a pair of military-inspired Mia Ximena boots for her own wardrobe to prep for the season. According to Danielle: “They have this old, vintage-y feel. The leather is burnished which gives it depth too instead of just a plain, solid color. And they go with pants and cute skirts so they’re versatile.”

Weird Shoe Wednesdays: How To Make Back To The Future Shoes

I may or may not have already shared something about Back To The Future shoes. Really, there have been plenty of people who have tried their hand at creating the self-lacing sneakers envisioned in Back To The Future II. But now, a designer/engineer/fan named Blake Bevin has not only created a working model–he’s also provided detailed step-by-step instructions on how to make your own. See his Power Lacing Nikes in action below. If you’d like a pair of your own, you can check out Instructables for full directions. Excuse me as I cry in all my geek glory.

New Shoes In-Stock: BOBS by Skechers

We previewed the new BOBS by Skechers shoes earlier this week and now they’re available on www.shoemetro.com (I know–super-quick, right?). Like we said before, these BOBS by Skechers are inspired by the TOMS shoes 1-to-1 charity model: for every pair of BOBS that’s sold, Skechers will donate a second pair to a child in need. Have a heart and try a pair of BOBS.

We have the traditional BOBS shoes–called Earth Day–with classic canvas in Navy, Gray, and Black. But we also have a sequined spin on those BOBS, Earth Mama, in Black and Silver. Click the links for your fave color or you can also click on the images below to check them out.

Weird Shoe Wednesdays: Burberry Platform-Wedge-Sneaker Shoes

I’m not sure what’s with the whole obsession with turning sneakers into heels or anything that’s higher class than sneakers. I guess there might be something democratic in mixing low brow with high brow. Or maybe it’s just really avant-garde like that. Of course, sometimes taking risks doesn’t work out.

Case in point: Burberry Prorsum platform “pumps.” They’re sneakers with ginormous demi-wedge heels, a sort of monstrous, Frankenstein-ish hybrid of platforms, wedges, and casual sneakers (they’re even green like Frankenstein). They take “chunky” to a whole new, wholly dangerous level. These shoes look like walking around with giant anvils in your shoes. The designer gods weep before them.

Insult to injury: you’ll have to shell out $850 for these. Check them at Net-A-Porter.

Bargain Steals on Jambu, BCBGirls, Bass

I’ve decided to be better at filling you all in on the most current promotions we’ve got going on at Shoe Metro. This week, we’ve got some pretty amazing deals on these three shoes. We’re selling the Jambu Sonya sandals for $14.99, which is 87% Off MSRP. We also have the BCBGirls Visola at $9.99, which is 89% Off MSRP. And for men, there’s the Bass Brockton shoes at $14.99 for 77% Off MSRP. Clearly, we’ve all just gone mad. You should probably hurry and take advantage before we come back to our senses. Click the links above to go to those shoes or hit the image below to go to our homepage.

Coming Soon: BOBS by Skechers

Following the lead of the famous TOMS shoes, Skechers has released their charity line of shoes called BOBS. And we just received them in our warehouse. The BOBS collection by Skechers are flat espadrille shoes inspired by the South American alpargata shoe. They are really comfy and relaxed. The bigger picture is that for every pair of BOBS that you buy, Skechers will donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. Check them out below.

Jenny with BOBS by Skechers

They’ll be available at www.shoemetro.com soon enough. Until then, don’t bother Jenny–she’s on a very important phone call, as you can see. :)
