You might remember when we featured the taxidermist-inspired work of German designer Iris Schieferstein months ago. Well, it looks like someone at the Cheltenham race track had the same idea. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Cheltenham Festival, one of the most prestigious events in horse racing, an online betting exchange named Betfair commissioned designers to create these hooves. The hooves are made from carbon fiber and up to 5000 real horse hairs. And they bear an uncanny resemblance to Schieferstein’s work.
A limited run of these shoes were sold for £1,300 per pair, the proceeds from which were donated to the Prostrate Cancer Charity. Hit the jump to see models trying to look sexy in horse hooves. Via Daily Mail.
